Peter Marrone
Non-Executive Chairman
Mr Marrone has proven global gold discovery and development success with a strong track record of driving shareholder returns.
He is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Allied Gold Corporation, a company which he and his management team took public in 2023. Before Allied Gold, he served as Executive Chairman of Yamana Gold Inc., a company he founded in 2003. With over 35 years of experience in mining, business, and capital markets, Mr Marrone has founded and taken public several companies across various sectors.
Sergio Rotondo
Executive Vice Chairman
Mr Sergio Rotondo has an extensive background in managing billion-dollar construction projects from design through to completion and has partnered with some of Argentina’s largest real estate developers and designers. Importantly, Sergio is also the founder of Golden Mining SA, which originally consolidated 100% of the Hualilan Gold Project.
Mr Sergio Rotondo holds a Masters Degree in Economics from University of CEMA and an international MBA Degree from University of CEMA.
Sonia Delgado
Executive Director
Dr Sonia Delgado graduated with honours as a lawyer and has a Master’s degree in labour law from the National University of Cordoba. Her work experience in the private sector began in 2004 when she opened her own law firm specialising in Argentinian Labour law which she has maintained until her appointment by Challenger Exploration.
Over a distinguished career in the Argentinian public sector, Sonia has occupied positions including: Assistant Office of the State Prosecutor of the Province of San Juan; Undersecretary of Planning and Promotion of Mining Development; Chief of Advisors (Argentina National Mining Ministry) and, most recently, Secretary of Mining for the province of San Juan, Argentina.
Eduardo Elsztain
Non-Executive Director
Mr Elsztain is a prominent Argentine businessman who has built a huge portfolio of real assets in the last three decades, including rental and mixed-use properties in Argentina through IRSA [NYSE:IRS] and farmland in Latin America through CRESUD [NASDAQ:CRESY]. Mr Elsztain also has direct and indirect interest in mining projects inside and outside Argentina.
Fletcher Quinn
Non-Executive Director
Mr Quinn has over 35 years’ experience in venture capital, corporate finance and investment banking. This includes extensive experience with both listed and unlisted companies, including public company development, management and governance. Mr Quinn was the founding Chairman for ASX entities Citadel Resource Group and Sirocco Resources.
Brett Hackett
Non-Executive Director
Mr Hackett has 33 years of experience as an Australian diplomat. For the last 13 years, his principal focus has been on expanding Australia’s economic and political relationships with the counties of Latin America.
He has served as Ambassador on three occasions; as Australia’s first resident Ambassador in Afghanistan (2006-2008), as Ambassador to Brazil (2011-2014), and most recently as Ambassador to Argentina (2018-2023).
In Brett’s role as Ambassador to Argentina he accrued considerable experience in promoting Australian interests, particularly in Argentina’s mining sector. Brett is highly regarded on both sides of politics in Argentina and, as the most recently returned Ambassador, he maintains a current and enviable list of contacts in Argentina. As the Company moves through studies into negotiation of fiscal terms for the Hualilan Project at the National Government level Brett’s experience and contacts will be of great assistance to the Company.
Carolina Zang
Non-Executive Director
Ms Zang is a securities lawyer and a partner of Zang, Bergel & Viñes Law Firm in the market and finance area leading numerous landmark transactions, including debt restructurings, sovereign bond issuances, and corporate financing, and representing one-third of the most active and representative Argentine issuers. She has extensive experience with public companies with securities listed in the US and other jurisdictions, as well as significant expertise in corporate governance.
While in NY she worked at Chadbourne & Parke LLP and in the National Legal Directorate of the Secretariat of Natural Resources and Human Environment. Ms Zang is a director in several listed public companies such as Brasil Agro Companhia Brasileira de Propriedades Agricolas (AGRO3) – a Brazilian company with listed shares in Novo Mercado and Nasdaq and Banco Hipotecario S.A. (BHIP), an Argentine bank. She participates in the Advisory Council of the renowned think tank CIPPEC, the Council of Lawyers for Civil and Economic Rights of The Vance Center in NY, and several committees and working groups at the International Bar Association. Ms Zang is the current chair of the Pro Bono committee at the Buenos Aires City Bar.
Ms Zang holds a law degree in Universidad de Buenos Aires and has an LLM from New York University School of Law in New York.
Yohann Bouchard
Chief Operating Officer and Interim CEO
Mr Bouchard brings with him more than 25 years of progressive technical and operations experience in the mining industry. Most recently, he was
President of Andean Precious Metals prior to which he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at New Gold.
Prior to New Gold, Mr Bouchard was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Yamana Gold. Mr Bouchard joined Yamana in October 2014 and was responsible for Yamana Gold’s mining operations in the Americas including operations in Argentina’s San Juan province. Prior to joining Yamana, Mr Bouchard occupied key operating and technical positions with Primero Mining Corporation, IAMGOLD Corporation, Breakwater Resources Ltd. and Cambior Inc.
Felipe Riquelme
Chief Financial Officer
Mr Riquelme brings with him more than 15 years of progressive finance leadership experience within multinational mining organizations, with extensive expertise in corporate finance, financial reporting, financial governance, operational finance, capital management, and enterprise financial planning across complex global operations. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis at Andean Precious Metals Corp., where he partnered with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making, operational performance, and long-term value creation.
Prior to Andean Precious Metals, Mr Riquelme held senior finance leadership positions at New Gold Inc. and Yamana Gold Inc., where he was responsible for supporting global mining operations through effective financial management, business performance analysis, governance, and strategic initiatives. Throughout his career, Mr Riquelme has worked closely with executive teams, operational leaders, and Boards to strengthen financial discipline, enhance decision-making capabilities, and support sustainable business performance.
Kelly Moore
Joint Company Secretary
Ms Moore is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and qualified Company Secretary with extensive experience in providing accounting and secretarial advice to public companies. Ms Moore holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia and New Zealand, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an associate member of the Governance Institute of Australia.
Michelle Kennedy
Joint Company Secretary
Ms Kennedy is a qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in providing financial reporting and corporate advisory services to public companies. Ms Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia and New Zealand.
